Bishop Congratulates Winner of 2018 Congressional Art Competition

WASHINGTON – Congressman Mike Bishop (MI-08) recognized the winner of the Eighth District’s 2018 Congressional Art Competition this week at the annual awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. The winner, Zach Adams, won for his photography entry entitled, “Apple on the Beach.” Zach is a rising Junior at Rochester Adams High School and his artwork will hang in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol building for one year.

“I always look forward to the annual Congressional Art Competition, which recognizes artistic talent in Michigan and across the country. Our state is fortunate to benefit from outstanding art teachers who help to emphasize the value of art education in our communities, and I appreciate their dedication on behalf of our students,” said Rep. Bishop. “Congratulations to Zach Adams and all of the impressive high school students who submitted their artwork. Zach is a talented photographer, and I am proud to have his work represent Michigan’s Eighth Congressional District in the U.S Capitol.

Zach’s winning piece, entitled “Apple on the Beach.” It will hang in the U.S. Capitol, along with the other winners from congressional districts across the country.   

The competition is open to all high school students, grades nine to 12, who reside in the Eighth District. Entries for the 2019 competition will be accepted next spring. Information will be updated on Congressman Bishop’s website at that time.
