Tonight, the House passed the conference version of the National Defense Authorization Act for FY 2018 by a vote of 356-70. Congressman Mike Bishop issued the following statement in support:

“Congress has a critical responsibility to provide for our Armed Forces, and I’m proud to do so with our NDAA legislation today. Not only is it imperative to ensure our troops have the necessary equipment and assistance to perform to the best of their ability, but they deserve to know we have their best interest at the core of what we do here in Washington. That’s why our 2018 NDAA bill includes the largest troop pay raise in eight years. Our brave men and women in uniform fight for our freedom every single day, and they absolutely deserve this kind of support, and more, in return.”

  • BIPARTISANSHIP ALERT: Earlier this year, the House passed their version of the FY 2018 NDAA by a vote of 344-81. The Senate’s version passed 89-8.

Rep. Bishop also spoke on the House floor in July about his amendment to the House NDAA bill urging NATO member nations to honor their defense spending commitments. His amendment passed and was incorporated into the final legislation.
