Today, Congressman Mike Bishop (MI-08) and his family attended President Donald J. Trump’s inauguration ceremony at the U.S. Capitol. In conclusion of the event, Rep. Bishop issued the following statement:

“It is an honor to represent the people of Michigan’s Eighth District, and I am truly grateful to have shared this historic moment with my family today. The presidential swearing-in ceremony is a culmination of the past, present and future of our nation’s history. It represents a new beginning, but also serves as a humbling reminder of everything our Founding Fathers built for us.

“We have faced many battles as a nation, and America has always persevered. Our government must do better for the American people – so every family can get ahead, so every individual can exercise his or her freedom, so everyone can realize their dreams. We live in the greatest nation in the world and I look forward to working with President Trump and Vice President Pence to build on that in the years ahead.”
